This summer’s Music Academy orchestra concerts get off to a breathtaking start with John Adams’ energetic fanfare and two orchestral showpieces. The vibrant
Firebird
is the first of Stravinsky’s three hugely successful ballet scores. Beethoven’s driven, exciting seventh symphony is one of the composer’s most popular symphonic works. Larry Rachleff returns for his fifth summer to transform, in just six days, 100 instrumental Fellows — newly arrived at the Music Academy from all over the globe — into an impressive orchestra.
