Author of several books, guest speaker on CNN, and one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People,” Ms. Ali’s incredible journey is one of bravery, persistence, and love of her fellow man. From experiencing the horrors of female genital mutilation as a young Muslim girl in Somalia to witnessing weekly ISIS-like beheadings and stonings there, to finally fleeing to The Netherlands to escape an arranged marriage, Ms. Ali eventually defied the odds to became a member of Dutch Parliament, pursue a fellowship at Harvard, and now comes to Santa Barbara to tell her incredible story to the public.l
