Overview

Ken Burns

This special lecture by Ken Burns will be an appreciation for what the parks have added to our collective and individual spirit. Named “the most accomplished documentary filmmaker of his generation” by The New York Times, Burns has captured the imaginations of television viewers in unprecedented fashion. His in-depth portraits of Americana – featured in works like The National Parks, The Civil War, Baseball and JAZZ – set rating records and garnered dozens of accolades, including a career 13 Emmy Awards and an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Lifetime Achievement Award. In celebration of the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary, Burns will revisit the stories of those who devoted themselves to saving the land they loved.
