Say Amen Somebody

Part of the Movies that Matter with Hal Conklin film series.

This documentary is a remarkably compelling look at the colorful history of Gospel music singing in the United States and features some of the earliest founders of this form of praise that was born in the small Midwestern traditions of the African American church. Many of legends of modern music such as Whitney Houston got their start, experience, poise, and grace in the Gospel choirs of the black church in America.
