Mahler's Romantic Fifth Symphony
The music director of the Minnesota Orchestra, Osmo Vänskä, will lead a piece by a compatriot Finnish composer, Kalevi Aho, that depicts the lives of ancient Chinese people and their beautiful landscape. The program will close with Mahler’s personal love story embedded in his most popular symphony, including its strikingly sublime Adagietto, a musical poem for his cherished wife.
